We got to know TORI’s Head of Operational Excellence a bit better. Chris has over 25 years experience in wholesale, retail and investment banking operations and has worked for both US and European houses at COO level, as well as spending a number of years leading a range of strategic initiatives at KPMG for Tier One clients.
I was born in ’65 but would love to travel back to the 1960s as a twenty-something, knowing what I know now – so I could live fast, see Led Zeppelin (most importantly), drive a VW bus to the beach, hangout and enjoy the buzz.
I love cycling in Majorca and the French Alps. Italy is still on the list to do. I’d also like to try my hand at completing one of the One Day classics, either the Milan-San Remo or Paris- Roubaix. Both hugely challenging!
Postman. It was torrential rain on my first day. I didn’t know the round, I couldn’t read addresses on the letters as they were soaked and literally disintegrating as soon as I took them out of the mail bag which was balanced precariously on the front of the bike (yes, bike!). A disaster! But in the end, I loved it – and it had the added benefit of me being able to finish the round an hour ahead of the allotted time, but still being paid for that hour!
My children. Bronte is just starting out on her chosen career as a TV and Theatre make-up artist. Michael is currently sitting his GCSEs and is hell-bent on becoming a professional cyclist (no idea where he got that from!).
How many can I invite?! Let’s go with an eclectic eight - Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen, Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandella, Eddie Merckx, Malcolm Campbell, James Hunt, Dave Brailsford.
A car designer, working for McLaren. I was blown away by a VIP tour of the McLaren Technology Centre.
Daniel Craig, without a doubt.
