SFTR: a new dawn for transaction reporting - are you ready?

Thu 14 Nov 2019 to Fri 15 Nov 2019
1 Lombard Street
United Kingdom

SFTR is set to radically change the transaction reporting space and will affect all European entities and their branches, as well as the EU branches of non-EU entities.

The regulation is the product of work carried out by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) to curb shadow banking. It is intended to enhance the transparency of the securities financing markets by requiring those who enter into securities financing transactions (SFTs) to report them to a trade repository (TR).

The event

TORI Global is hosting an evening seminar alongside several industry partners and vendors, including: UnaVista - the London Stock Exchange Group's global hosted platform for matching, validation and reconciliation testing; Equilend - a securities finance trading, post-trade and clearing services platform; and and AxiomSL - a data management tool for Risk and Regulatory reporting, Liquidity and Capital analytics.

The event will aim to cover several discussion points relating to the regulation, including:

  • The key facets of SFTR (who's affected; what needs to be reported; the timeline; the data required)
  • The key challenges and considerations (a high-level tick list of where to start)
  • Deployment and optimising operational processes (steps to take towards compliance)

The format

The evening will comprise a panel of guest speakers, each of whom will present their perspectives on the regulation, with a chance for attendees to ask questions both during and after the talks. There will be ample time for networking and discussion both before and after the presentations.
