Client: Major International Insurance Company
Assignment: A complex transformation programme to support this company’s strategy to outsource its UK data centres to improve operational efficiency and achieve annual savings of £50m.
Details: A group-wide programme was initiated to ready, outsource, and then transform the service to achieve a wider strategic approach, build strong partnerships, and optimise service levels. This programme involved the transfer of over 400 staff to the chosen provider – a global Service Integration company. TORI worked with both companies providing the strategic direction, governance framework and programme management at various stages of this complex initiative.
To ready the organisation, TORI provided strategic direction to disjoin the services so that the separate entity could be outsourced. TORI also established and managed a governance framework so that due diligence could be performed by potential clients for the change function. Both the interim directorship and PMO function were then successfully handed over, which enabled the Insurance Company and Service Provider to complete the migration successfully.
With extensive outsourcing experience and working knowledge of both companies, TORI was engaged again to help with the transformation programme and drive the implementation of infrastructure and the migration of applications onto newer technology platforms.
Outcomes: TORI successfully supported the clients to achieve one of the largest data outsourcing programmes in the UK insurance sector enabling both companies to begin a 10-year £700m partnership.
